Three things that look alike and end differently. This page decides which one you actually want.
Share with Bandmates or Move to a New Device
Use sharing to give bandmates the music for rehearsal. Use backup and restore to move your own collection to a new device. Sharing adds received material. Restoring replaces the receiving device's current data.
Choose What You Want to Transfer
| Your goal | Use |
|---|---|
| Give a bandmate one song | Share Song |
| Include the song order and spoken notes | Share Setlist |
| Open a received QR code or archive | Receive Shared Data |
| Move your scores, songs, and setlists to your new device | Backup / Restore |
Share with a Bandmate
Choose whether to include annotations and display settings on the sending page. Consider whether the recipient needs your personal fingering or reminders. Use a QR code for a nearby recipient, or an archive to send later. During QR transfer, keep the sending screen open until the recipient finishes.
After transfer, open the song or setlist on the receiving device. Check that the score, and any audio you plan to use, are present. The sending and receiving pages explain the steps and what is included.
Move to a New Device
Follow Backup / Restore and keep the backup file outside the original device too. If the new device already contains data you want to keep, back it up before restoring. Keep the original device and backup until you have checked that scores and songs open on the new device.
If Something Is Missing After Transfer
- The library contains it but the setlist has no new song: check the Add Songs to Setlist option in Receive Shared Data.
- You also want to keep the current data: before restoring, check what you can add through sharing. Receive Shared Data explains the distinction.
- You deleted something by mistake: check what can be recovered in Trash. Check available backups before repeating a restore or permanently deleting anything.
