The route for deciding the on-stage look in advance and getting your markings in while you still have rehearsal time.

Prepare the Performance View and Add Annotations

Make the score readable from your playing position and mark entries, cuts, or other reminders. If it is already comfortable to read, you do not need to adjust every setting. Start with the places that are hard to read or easy to forget during a performance.

One Song or Your Usual View?

Use Global Settings to change your usual view, or Item Settings for one song's display in this setlist. An item's display override takes priority over the corresponding global setting.

Open the score in the orientation and at the distance you will use on stage. Choose how much of the next passage you want to see and how you will turn pages, as well as the text size.

Adjust What You Need

  1. Read larger pages or see the next passage: choose the display layout and direction in the Display Menu. Use Global Settings to change the default for all songs.
  2. Remember entries or cuts: add marks or text with the Annotation Palette. Annotations are also visible in other songs that use the same score; read the save-scope guidance if you need separate versions.
  3. Try it while playing: hold your instrument and turn a few pages. Check readability and unintended page turns. Rehearse appearance or color-inversion changes you plan to use in a dark venue.
